Pahari Mandir is located near the Ratu Road of the popular city of Ranchi in Jharkhand. It is situated at an altitude of 2140 feet from the sea level. This Temple of Lord Shankara (Lord Shiva) alias Pahari Mandir is situated 7 km away from Ranchi Railway Station at Ratu Road.When i went first time pahari i was happy but little bit scared,scared about snake when i was at the age of 9. i went pahari mandir including my mom and dad.slowly we went to the top of the hill where lord shiv temple is located.From the top of the hill the whole city can be seen. One can find various kind of tress which multiplies the beauty of the hill particularly in the rainy season.
The temple also has the relation to some freedom fighters of Ranchi. The real name of this beautiful embedded old shiv mandir which is about 300 ft.The temple built on top of Ranchi,The surroundings of temple have well maintained picturesque surroundings and to reach the temple at the top of the mountain requires tapping up of more than 300 steps. Most of the devotees visit this place to make their wishes and also make the opportunity to thank Lord Shiva for the blessings.
It is a very charming and imposing temple of Lord Shankara which is another name of Lord Shiva. Ranch hill was earlier being known as Phansi Tongri and it was the place where freedom fighters were hanged to death. To remember the importance of this important hill in the freedom movement, tricolor flag is unfurled on the Independence Days and Republic days.
This place is very fast developing into a religious tourist site,I think this is the best site to see the whole ranchi.The lord shiv is also known as shiv baba etc.lord shiv have many name.He is also worshiped as a linga.during shivratri puja a huge crowed get together in mandir.
